Duke was pulled from the Downey Shelter just in the nick of time.  He is, what we in the rescue biz call, a wash and wear dog.  You can take him anywhere and put him with anyone.  Obviously you wouldn't put him with a dog aggressive dog.  The shelter did that, thinking he'd get along with anyone and the other dog beat the him up.   We took him off leash on a big hike and he stayed with our pack although because he's just learning his new name, instant recall was challenging.  Or maybe it was just that he loved the hike so much he didn't want it to end.    He does love to countersurf and he does love the sofa, but after what he's been through, who would deny him any luxuries?   He would be a great companion or a one and only dog (meaning he won't get lonely).  He's always up for a walk or a hike and after that, he's happy to hang with you at home.
