Please do not contact Dogz In Need as we have limited information on this sweet dog. Melia was found living on the streets of Puerto Rico, hungry but friendly and approachable right away. Her rescuer brought her back to the US and has nursed her back to health. She is friendly, loving and playful. She gets along with dogs of all sizes (80 pound retrievers to 5 pound Chihuahuas) however she prefers the her canine companions to be mellow and easy-going.
She is very loving and wants to be held and petted. She will lay very close to you on the bed. She will toss her toys in the air and play with them, and she will occasionally chase her tail! A completely fenced home/yard is a requirement for placing sweet Melia as her natural breed instincts to herd and explore can show themselves occasionally. If she gets out, she wants to go wandering and does not want to be caught! Melia will only be placed in a breed savvy experienced home.
