Hazel is a wonderful 4 year old chow mix. A little old-fashioned, like her name, Hazel can best be described as a lady. She’s calm, confident and dignified. She’s loving with her family, accepting of strangers, and enjoys petting from anyone. She doesn’t go in much for games and toys but she loves long walks (she’s good on a loose leash), trips to the beach, and even going along on trail rides with horses. Despite her athletic prowess, Hazel is actually a laid back, almost lazy dog. Inside the house she’s pretty much a couch potato (or floor potato) and outside she spends most of the time sunning herself on the patio. She likes being around other dogs (especially medium to large guys) and animals like horses. She gets along with (as in ignores) cats. Her one big problem is she likes to wander and is smart at defeating fences. She needs a new home that either has the room to let her roam or a good quality fence to keep her in the yard.
