About Taz | |
Taz is a sweet, 7-month old Rottweiller mix. He can be a bit timid at first, but once he has a chance to sniff and be around a new person, he loves attention and being pet all over. He comes when called and craves affection, leaning in, bumping his head on your leg and pawing for more rubs. He does well with other dogs and plays very gently with kittens, but is more interested in human affection than the play yard. He is very gentle, with no signs of aggression, very submissive body language and behavior.
Taz does well with children, but does show some resource guarding with food and toys, so younger children are not recommended. He loves car rides, playing fetch and handles very well at the vet. He will bark at strangers, especially at night, but once introduced he warms up quickly. Taz needs work on his potty training, and will eliminate inside his crate. He may have been improperly introduced to crate training and does not like the crate, whih can be easily corrected with some training. Taz also needs lots of mental stimulation and positive reinforcement since he has a problem with chewing things. He has not displayed any escape behaviors, but will chew on things when left alone and will cry if left alone in his crate. He has a low activity level. Taz is altered, up to date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped.
Please contact Krystyna at kzarn-langford@sdhumane.org and Sophia at sspringer@sdhumane.org if you'd like to meet Taz!
