Belle belonged to a family who moved and couldn't keep her. We think she is a Shiba Inu blend-and as with many rescue dogs, since we've never seen her parents, this is our best guess. She is an international traveller as she was born in Jordan - and even has a "passport!" The previous owners took "crate training" to a new (and infuriating) level.  Belle lived for the most part in the crate for several months with just quick trips outside.  Her new foster Mom has been working hard to socialize her and teach her the American way. She is very alert and has the cutest way of tilting her head when she's looking at something and when talked to.  She is a darling, smart and learns fast.  Is very good on the leash and loves to run and play.

Belle is good with other dogs and plays with a 5 year old dog in her foster home. They get along very well and have animated games of tug 'o war!  She happily and contentedly sleeps in the crate but otherwise has run of the condo with her playmate.  She's high energy so a yard is most desirable as well as someone who is committed to daily exercise such as consistent jogging or walking.    Initially seems scared when meeting new people but once she's petted she's happy.  She's great with adults and has a real affinity towards men! You couldn't ask for a better watchdog and is quickly learning when it's appropriate to bark and when it's not. Belle has been in her foster home for only 3 weeks (as of mid-Sept) and she's made amazing progress from her days of living in a crate.

Belle's new home must be committed to take her training seriously, and equally as important, give her a lot of love, exercise, attention and play time.
