Spirit lived most of his life on a chain in a yard, ignored and starved. He finally escaped and lived on the road for several weeks being fed by a good Samaratin in a trailer park in Corona. He ended up in the Animal Shelter where he was inside for the first time in his life and simply terrified....he reacted badly to confinement and less than humane treatment (the stick they forced into his mouth fractured his right front canine) so they labeled him a "difficult" dog and slated him for euthanasia. Through the power of love and compassion, funds were raised to pull him, get him medical treatment and send him to Kens Canines for a 2 week socialization course. Spirit is one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever fostered and is slowly beginning to understand that people are not all cruel. He is responding to affection and blossoming into the dog he was meant to be. Please help him continue to grow! He cannot tolerate being restrained on a chain or in a crate but walks like a Prince on a leash.
